County set to break ground on new multi-million dollar Garberville Campus Complex

GARBERVILLE, Calif. (KIEM) — Humboldt County is holding a virtual groundbreaking ceremony next week for the construction of the new $2.6 million Garberville Campus Complex.

The new complex will replace current buildings, and serve as a more modern, energy efficient community center for southern Humboldt residents.

The facility will be close to 5,000 square feet and will feature a library, sheriff’s substation, and conference room.

According to the county, by combining more public services into single locations not only does it save money from utility costs and building maintenance, but the community is also served better by having to travel less distance to access services.

The virtual ground breaking ceremony is set for September 2nd and will take place on zoom. That meeting information can be found at https://humboldtgov.org/civicalerts.aspx?AID=3208.
