Covid-19 Testing Will Not Refer Undocumented People to I.C.E.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Humboldt County Public Health releases a statement in support of the Latin-x community.

Hispanic people make up 12% of the population of the county, but are approximately 40% of all confirmed cases of Covid-19.

In order to combat this disparity, Public Health wants to reassure undocumented people that they will not cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and to remind them that Humboldt County has a sanctuary ordinance.

Seeking treatment or testing for Covid-19 will not share information on undocumented residents to ice officials.
