Early morning structure fire results in over $100,000 in damages

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) — An early morning structure fire in Eureka results in over $100,000 in damage.

Monday morning around 9:15, Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a structure fire coming from a detached garage on the 200 block of Long Street.

Heavy smoke was seen coming from a garage unit and shed accessed through an alleyway. The first engine on scene initiated fire attack with the following engine setting up a water supply. Crews quickly got the fire under control within 20 minutes.

Damage to the shed and garage, which had 2 vehicles inside, is estimated at around $130,000. All surrounding structures were saved and no injuries reported. Right now, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
