Free Mini Gardens for Low-income Humboldt County Residents

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – This year, 241 gardens have been planted thanks to a new initiative launched by Cooperation Humboldt in April.

The program provides free mini vegetable gardens for low-income residents of Humboldt County and provides ongoing mentor ship and educational materials.

Cooperation Humboldt’s food team also provides the little free pantries which inspire neighborhood food sharing, converts unused front lawns into gardens, plants free fruit trees for the community, and provides education to increase local food sovereignty.
