Housing and Urban Development Provides $100 Million to Native American Tribes

WASHINGTON D.C. (KIEM) – Housing and Urban Development provides $100 million in Cares Act funding to NativeĀ  American Tribes to support pandemic recovery efforts.

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson announced  the funding  as a part of the Indian Community Development Block Grant- Imminent Threat Program, which uses Cares Act funding to help tribes prevent, prepare for, and respond to Covid-19.

Tribes will be able to use the money to construct new rental housing, water infrastructure, purchase and renovate medical facilities, and provide emergencies food supplies to geographically isolated communities.
