Office of Elections In Need of Bilingual Poll Workers

Humboldt County, Calif. (KIEM)– Three days before the primary election back in March, just before the COVID-19 pandemic lock down took place, 30% of the already trained Humboldt County poll workers dropped out.

While understandable with the uncertainty and lack of facts at the time, Humboldt County does not want to be in that position again.

Current recruitment is going well according to Registrar of Voters, Kelly Sanders. For this election they are creating back up positions.

Although there will not be polling location for this election, Humboldt County will have 9 Voter Assistance Centers that will be open starting October 31st through election night on November 3rd. They are in need of bilingual workers to assist those who need help.

If you are bilingual in Spanish or Hmung please reach out to the office of elections. https://humboldtgov.org/elections or call (707) 445-7481.
