Contact tracing begins on reservation

HOOPA VALLEY, Calif. (KIEM)-Contact tracing on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation Started over the weekend according to The Hoopa Office of Emergency Services. 

Hoopa OES is working with the Humboldt Health Department.  

There is a limited testing clinic held Sunday for those to have been in contact with positive cases discovered during mass testing -where 4 new cases where discovered and reported today.  

Their total number of confirmed cases is now 50 – 5 cases remain active with 45 recoveries and 0 deaths.  

These numbers are the latest results from K’ima:W Medical Center -where they process between 20-to-30 tests on average, per day.  

Friday was the last day of mass testing on the Hoopa Valley Reservation – personnel from outside agencies invited to assist the Hoopa COVID-19 management team have since left.  

THE Hoopa Valley Public Health Officer is now urging community members with symptoms to call the appointment line at (530) 625-4261 ext. 0218 

You will be asked a series of questions – dependent on your answer you may be asked to come in and get tested.
