Air quality advisory issued for Weaverville area, other communities impacted by smoke

WEAVERVILLE, Calif. (KIEM) — Area wildfires continue to impact the air quality here along the North Coast prompting an air quality advisory to be issued.

Coastal areas in Humboldt County are expected to have moderate air quality. That’s expected in Eureka Monday as well, but may worsen slightly tomorrow. The air will be unhealthy for sensitive groups in Hoopa, Orleans, Weitchpec, and Willow Creek with improvement to moderate in the evening. Southern Humboldt may see periods of unhealthy for sensitive groups the further south you head.

Now in Trinity County, an air quality advisory was issued for the Weaverville area. The air quality is expected to be unhealthy to unhealthy for sensitive groups for most of the day. Hayfork will see moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups with period of unhealthy air quality depending on conditions.

In Del Norte County, coastal areas and Klamath will be moderate, and Crescent City will see moderate to good air quality.
