Full list of evacuation orders and warnings for Southern Humboldt

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect for southern Humboldt as fire crews work to contain the Hopkins Fire, now known as the Elkhorn Fire, burning just east of the county.

Here is a map from the office of emergency services that shows the evacuation order and warning zones.

Blocksburg, Alderpoint, Harris, Palo Verde, and Island Mountain remain under an evacuation order and have been told to leave now. Myers Flat, Miranda, Phillipsville, Garberville, Benbow, Fruitland, Brock Creek, Fort Seward, Steelhead, and Eel Rock are all under an evacuation warning and are advised to make preparations to leave.

A temporary evacuation point has been set up at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale. Residents are urged to sign up for Humboldt alerts. For more information, you can call the 24-hour information line at (707) 268-2500.
