Fifth Covid-19 death, 5 new cases reported Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — A fifth Humboldt County resident has died after being diagnosed with Covid-19.

The individual was in their 70’s and passed at an out of the area medical facility. The person had a permanent residence in Humboldt, but was not living in the county at time of death.

Five new cases are confirmed by the Public Health Department. One more hospitalization was reported bringing the total to 26. Five more recoveries were reported bringing that number to 382.

Health officials are currently monitoring 60 active cases. Of the total cases, 270 had contact to a known case, 92 are travel related, and 54 are a result of community transmission. There are 31 cases under investigation.
