Oak Fire reaches 95% containment, all evacuations lifted

WILLITS, Calif. (KIEM) — The Oak Fire reaches almost full containment and all evacuations for surrounding communities have been lifted.

According to Cal Fire, the blaze has burned 1,100 acres and as of Monday morning, is 95% contained. Fire crews will remain on scene throughout the day looking for and taking action on any hot spots or smoke within containment lines. Twenty-five structures were destroyed and 20 more damaged. No injuries or fatalities were reported among residents or firefighters.

The fire first broke out a week ago just north of Willits. The cause is under investigation.
