HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – With firefighters closely working together to put out the several wildfires burning around us, Humboldt County is working with various fire agencies to address COVID-19 concerns.

Humboldt County Deputy Health Officer Dr. Josh Ennis says it is always worrisome when multiple people from different areas or households gather in large groups.

He says along with fire agencies, the county is working with agencies involved in providing shelter to ensure safety measures are in place as they try to limit COVID-19 transmission.

“That includes screening for symptoms,” Ennis said, “It includes testing protocols to quickly identify individuals who have COVID-19 and be able to pull them out of the work force immediately upon identification.”
