Slater and Devil Fires have burned over 156,000 acres so far

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Slater and Devil Fires have grown to more than 156,000 acres with both sitting at 18% containment.

The Slater Fire is about 148,500 acres and the Devil Fire about 7,400 acres.

Evacuation warnings have been lifted for Happy Camp proper, the Elk Creek area, and Seiad proper. This does not include Indian Creek Road or Indian Creek Meadows. Big Flat and Gasquet remain under an evacuation warning.

Highway 199 has reopened, but remains an active fire zone, so expect delays.
