More than 2,200 personnel are fighting the August Complex Fire West Zone

MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — More than 2,200 personnel from Cal Fire and the U.S. Forest Service are continuing their fight against the August Complex Fire West Zone.

There are more than 200 engines and more than 2 dozen helicopters working on the fire as well.

The West Zone is about 95,160 acres in size with 35% containment. The complex as a whole has burned more than 878,000 acres. A reminder: all evacuation orders and warnings, as well as road closures, have been lifted for Humboldt County.
