1 new Covid-19 case reported Wednesday, 4 people currently hospitalized

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department confirms one new case of Covid-19 Wednesday. That brings the county’s total case count to 490. Health officials are monitoring 13 active cases.

On Tuesday, the health care system capacity alert level rose to level 2. This is due to a recent increase in Covid-19 hospitalizations. Four people are currently hospitalized, 3 of which are under the age of 60.

Of the total cases, 316 had contact to a known case, 103 are travel related, and 67 a result of community transmission. There are 4 cases under investigation. One more recovery has been reported as well bringing the total number of recoveries to 471.
