Red Salmon Complex Fire grows to more than 108,000 acres

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Red Salmon Complex Fire continues to burn across the Klamath, Six Rivers, and Shasta-Trinity National Forests. The fire is 108,165 acres in size and is 27% contained.

Crews continue to use drones for burnout operations in the Knownothing Creek area improving access to steep and rugged terrain.

“The Methodist Creek spot has kind of burnt together there on the road systems. That’s still within our containment lines. We’re holding and patrolling that,” according to Planning Operations Chief Gordon Meyer.

About 560 personnel are fighting the fire.
