Task forces from across the country assist with the Slater and Devil Fires

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Slater and Devil Fires have burnt close to 160,000 acres, but fire crews are getting some much needed help.

Eight different task forces from across the country have been called in to assist the U.S. Forest Service, including crews from Utah and Minnesota.

The Slater Fire is about 150,956 acres with 24% containment. The Devil Fire is about 7,784 acres and is 18% contained.

A reminder, all national forests in the area remain closed.
