Red Salmon Complex Burns Over 133,000 Acres

KLAMATH, Ca. (KIEM) – The Red Salmon Complex Fire has grown to over 133,000 acres as it continues to burn across three national forests.

The fire is now 34% contained.

Fire is steadily backing along the South Fork of the Salmon River filling in near Knownothing Creek — crews continue structure protection in the area of Godfrey, Black Bear, and Blue Ridge.

Crews are also performing defensive burning operations near the East branch of the New River; and an additional fire control line is being constructed along Lone Pine Ridge.

Evacuation warnings remain in effect for Forks of Salmon, Denny, and for four miles around Cecilville.
