The Red Salmon Complex Fire reaches 136,948 acres

SISKIYOU AND TRINITY COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) – The Red Salmon Complex Fire reaches 136,948 acres with 34% containment.

Crews successfully conducted defensive burns near the Colgrove Branch of Mill Creek and north of the New River near Miller Ranch.

Crews are helping to preserve historic structures near Cabin Peak in the Trinity Alps Wilderness by wrapping them in flame retardant materials; and have finished wrapping the structures located near Cabin Peak.

Evacuations and closures remain in effect for multiple areas near the fire, and Cecileville Road could close temporarily.
