Red Salmon Complex Fire burns over 138,000 acres

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FORESTS , Ca. (KIEM) – The Red Salmon Complex Fire reaches 34% containment today with 138,643 acres burned in the Klamath, Six Rivers. and Shasta-Trinity National Forests.

Crews have successfully conducted defensive burns in the New River- East Fork New River area near Miller Ranch.

Crews will continue to work in the area using an unmanned aircraft system – remotely controlled by a qualified pilot- to conduct the defensive burns.

These burns increase the safety for fire fighters and allows for work to be done at night.
