Crews continue to battle the Devil and Slater Fires

DEL NORTE AND SISKIYOU COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) – The Slater Fire is now more than 155,000 acres with 70% containment.

Crews are continuing to defend structures along fire lines on the Northern flank.

In the Southern area of the fire near Happy Camp, crews  are reinforcing containment lines and removing hazardous trees along Happy Camp Highway.

The Devil Fire is nearing 9,000 acres with 35% containment. Crews are building fire line into the Fort Geoff Creek area.
