4 new Covid-19 cases, 11 more recoveries reported since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reports 4 new cases of Covid-19 since Friday. Health officials are currently monitoring 9 active cases.

In the last week, 5 more cases have been reported in northern Humboldt, 4 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 2 more in southern Humboldt.

As far as the age breakdown of cases, the biggest weekly increase was seen in people in their 20’s with 4 new cases reported. People in their 30’s and people in their 50’s each saw 2 new cases in the last week. Teenagers, people in their 40’s, and people in their 60’s each saw one new case.

Of the total cases, 344 contracted the virus through contact with a known case, 113 are travel related, and 73 a result of community transmission. There are 3 cases under investigation.

On a more encouraging note, 11 more recoveries were also reported bringing that number to 516.
