Containment levels increase for Slater and Devil Fires

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND ROGUE RIVER‐SISKIYOU NATIONAL FORESTS, Ca. (KIEM) –  Containment of The Slater and Devil Fires increases over the weekend..

The Slater fire now stands at 75% containment with more than 156,000 acres burned.

Hazardous tree removal remains a high priority along Happy Camp Highway.

Patrol operations along the northern perimeter of the fire will search for hot spots in the area.

The Devil fire is now nearing 9,000 acres with 55% containment and is now in ‘monitor and patrol’ status.

Crews will be installing remote cameras over the next few days to monitor the fire’s activity.
