Red Salmon Complex Fire reaches 55% containment

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FORESTS, Ca. (KIEM) – The weekend rains have helped firefighters battling Red Salmon Complex Fire.

The fire has grown to just over 142,000 acres burned with 55% containment.

Clear skies allowed for air craft to fly and inspect the fire area and to assist with bucket drops to suppress the flames.

Today, crews will continue to work on containment lines and mop up near Colgrove Branch along the western flank of the fire.

Remain in place for the Forks of Salmon, Cecilville, and nearby communities.
