August Complex Fire reaches 76% containment

SHASTA, TRINITY, AND MENDOCINO COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) – Firefighters battling the August Complex Fire have increased containment levels to 76%, but incoming weather has the potential to increase fire activity.

Temperatures near the fire in the upper 70’s with wind gusts of up to 15 miles an hour has evoked a fire weather watch for this Wednesday through Friday.

Clear skies help fire fighters clean up hot spots along the unsecured perimeter of the north west zone, and crews are constructing dozer lines near Mad River Road.

Evacuation warning for Humboldt County have been lifted in zones HA and HB.  All other evacuation notices remain in place at this time.
