Fire weather watch issued for areas around the Red Salmon Complex Fire

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FORESTS, Ca. (KIEM) – Clear skies help firefighters battling The Red Salmon Complex Fire in the Klamath, Six Rivers, and Shasta-Trinity National Forests.

Crews have been able to use aircrafts and water bucket drops to suppress the fire.

Firefighters are working to monitor and improve the containment lines near the Colgrove Branch drainage area along the western flank of the fire.

Crews will continue to conduct defensive burns near Methodist and Plummer Creek in order to bring the fire down to the Salmon River.

Crews have begun to remove equipment from containment lines near the Forks of Salmon.

A fire weather watch has been issued for Wednesday and Thursday in the area of the fire.
