Increased fire activity expected for August Complex Fire

HUMBOLDT, MENDOCINO, AND TRINITY COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) – The August Complex Fire has grown to nearly 1,030,000 acres and is 30% contained.

More than 3,700 people are fighting the fire.

30-mile-per-hour winds with low humidity are expected to increase fire activity.

Air quality is expected to decrease as smoke levels rise over the next few days.

Smoke is expected to lower air quality to unhealthy or even very unhealthy in areas surrounding the fire.
