Potential increase of fire activity for the Slater and Devil Fires

DEL NORTE AND SISKIYOU COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) – Firefighters battling the Slater and Devil Fires are preparing for a potential increase in fire activity.

Warm temperatures and low humidity are expected.

The Slater Fire is nearing 157,000 acres with 80-percent containment.

The Devil Fire has grown to nearly 9,000 acres with 60% containment.

Crews are using air and ground resources to patrol the surrounding fire area.
