Red Salmon Complex is on day three of a Red Flag Alert

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FORESTS, Ca. (KIEM) – The Red Salmon Complex Fire has burned more than 142,000 acres with 62% containment.

Weather conditions are expected to increase the ignition of unburned fuels and smoke may limit some of the use of helicopter resources in fighting the fire.

Structure defense crews continue to test the sprinkler systems in Denny, Miller Ranch, Cecilville, Forks of Salmon, Godfrey, Blue Ridge, and Black Bear.

Resource advisors are assisting crews in their protection of sensitive cultural and natural resources.

Evacuation warnings remain in place at this time in Cecilville, Forks of Salmon, and nearby residences.
