The Red Salmon Complex reaches 75% containment

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FORESTS, Ca. (KIEM) – 18 crews are working to battle the Red Salmon Complex fire, which has burned over 143,000 acres, and is now 75% contained.

A red flag warning has been issued for the area of the fire due to a drier air mass and a drop in humidity levels. The warning is scheduled to last through mid-day Friday.

Crews continue to monitor and strengthen lines near Plummer Creek and are working to return the miles of water hose back to the fire camp for cleaning and shipping.

Smoke impacting the area surrounding the fire is expected to remain in the air due to nightly inversions. People living nearby should take caution- if you smell smoke, then you are breathing smoke.
