Almost 40% of registered voters have already cast their ballots in Humboldt County

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Early voting is underway here in Humboldt County, and almost 40% of registered voters have already cast their ballots.

Since early voting began back on October 5th, about 35,000 vote by mail ballots have been received either in the mail, one of the ballot drop off boxes, or in-person at the elections office. That’s out of more than 85,000 registered voters in the county. If you haven’t had a chance to vote yet, there’s still time.

“Drop boxes will be open until 8 pm on Election Day. Our voter assistance centers will open October 31st and ballots can be dropped off there as well. You can still bring them to the elections office. You can mail them, as long as they’re post marked by Election Day and we receive them by November 20th we can still process those ballots,” according to Kelly Sanders, registrar of voters for Humboldt County.
