EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)-COVID-19 has not stopped Eureka PD from holding their coffee with the captains by moving the event online.

Eureka Police Department’s Capt. Brian Stephens

“We’re trying to find a way to continue to pass on information, you know, to the citizens of Eureka and others,” he said. “And we found that this has been very productive for us because we record on Facebook, then people can watch it at our leisure.”

According to Stephens, fire safety will be discussed.

“So this time it will me Captain O’neal and myself, I believe the Chief may make an appearance,” he said.  “We’ll have the PIO of the fire department come over and talk about holiday safety, as far as fires and dumpsters.”

The virtual event is planned for Thursday, October 29, at 1 p.m.

Questions should be submitted in advance as there isn’t a live question and answer session planned.

Community members can suggest topics they’d like to hear about – requests and questions can be sent via EPD’s Facebook page.

For those unable to watch live – a copy of recorded event will be available online for later viewing.
