California Department of Public Health releases partial guidance for live performances

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The state recently released new Covid-19 regulations for live performances, and we’re learning more about what that will mean for Humboldt County. Artistic, theatrical and musical performances are permitted outdoors, but only in counties in orange or yellow tiers.

Groups of 3 households or less, including those performing and those watching, don’t need approval. If you want to have a larger event, outdoor concerts with up to 100 people are allowed for counties in the yellow tier. There are guidelines as far as performers, attendance, masking and social distancing. You also need approval from the public health department for larger events…

“We’ll be looking on those individually if those events are being planned, and approving those on a case by case basis. As more robust guidance comes forward, then we’ll be able to perhaps streamline that a little bit more and do that as we’ve done other approvals,” Frankovich says.

Frankovich says more detailed guidance will be released soon, but in the meantime, people can begin submitting their plans for approval.
