Assembly Member Jim Wood looking for a win over opponent Charlotte Svolos

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Turning our attention now to the California State Assembly race for District 2. Incumbent Jim Wood wants to pull out a win over opponent Charlotte Svolos.

In his 6 years in office, Wood has worked on a number of issues including broadband deployment, wildfire prevention, and more recently, helping people amid Covid-19 with challenges with EDD or the DMVand supporting local public health departments.

“This election means the opportunity to continue on work that I know is critical to our district. Also, my experience with Covid and the challenges that we’re all facing there. I know we just continue on the work that we’re doing. I think the continuity is really important for the district,” Assembly member Jim Wood says.

Svolos previously ran for district 35 of the state senate back in 2016 and 2012. Redwood News reached out to Svolos and her campaign for comment, but have yet to hear back.
