Congressman Jared Huffman looking to secure another term over opponent Dale Mensing

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Taking a look at the race for U.S. House of Representatives California District 2.

Incumbent Jared Huffman is trying to get another 2 years in office over opponent, Dale Mensing. In his 8 years, Huffman has made climate change a top priority, and will continue working towards rebuilding infrastructure in a green way and supporting the transition to clean energy.

“If that happens, it means I’m going to have a chance to be a part of a really exciting period of time for our country to move forward on these priorities. I’m in a great position to do that on the natural resources committee, on the transportation and infrastructure committee. Eight years into this work representing the North Coast in the congress, I feel like this is a pretty exciting moment,” Congressman Jared Huffman says.

Mensing previously ran for the same seat back in 2014 and 2016. Redwood News reached out to him and his campaign for comment, but have not heard back.
