Locals Demonstrate at the Courthouse to “Count Every Vote”

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- Locals in Humboldt County will be demonstrating at the courthouse at 5 p.m. today.

Suzanne Cook fears that Trump will declare himself the winner of the election based only on those who voted at the polls and wants to ensure that mail-in ballots will be taken into consideration as well.

Cook is demonstrating to exercise her right to participate in democracy and says, “Everybody is going to be out in the streets if Trump is victorious in stopping the vote count. If Trump stops the vote count there would be massive demonstrations everywhere not just in Humboldt County.”

Danny Kelley believes that whether you’re a republican or democrat, everyone should attend the event.

Kelley states, “I think that everyone with a conscience should be there to say look… no matter what, we want a fair and peaceful transition of power. We want a fair election. We want every vote to count.”
