Humboldt County reassigned to red tier in State’s reopening plan

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — In response to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases, the California Department of Public Health has moved Humboldt County into the red, or substantial, tier. The county currently has a case rate of 4.8 and positivity rate of 2%.

Here are some of the new requirements that are expected to take effect within the next 24 hours. Restaurants can open indoors at max 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer. Bars and breweries are closed, but wineries can open outdoors only. Retail and shopping malls can open indoors at max 50% capacity. Gyms can open indoors at max 10% capacity.
