Logan Rain Brewer-Hurst sentenced to 15 years for manslaughter and other charges

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The District Attorney sentenced Logan Rain Brewer-Hurst to fifteen years in the Department Of Juvenile Justice-Corrections and Rehabilitation.

In May of 2019, a drug transaction escalated into a fight between the then 16-year old Brewer-Hurst and two 18 year old victims. Taevonne Latimer was shot four times, and died from the injuries. The second victim was shot once in the leg.

Brewer-Hurst has been in juvenile detention since the day after the event, when he turned himself in.

Brewer-Hurst will not serve the full 15 years, as the maximum sentence that can be imposed on a juvenile offender ends incarceration at age 25.
