Sequoia Park Zoo Expands Conservation Lectures Virtually

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – For the first time ever, the Sequoia Park Zoo will be holding its free conservation lectures virtually this year because of COVID-19.

To their surprise, their first virtual meeting reached over 1,200 people, expanding their audience significantly. In comparison, the zoo’s lecture halls usually hold around 60 people.

The Director of Marketing and Events, Ashley Mobley, says, “We are extremely excited because we get to expand to a wider audience… so the advantage is that at the zoo, we have a limited capacity for the room size… so basically, we are able to expand our conservation message to a much larger audience.”

Their next virtual lecture is scheduled on Wednesday, December 16th at 7 p.m. You can join via zoom or Facebook live.

The zoom link will be available at www.SequoiaParkZoo.net and on their social media.

People will be able to ask questions to the speaker at the end of the presentation with the chat box or comment section.
