Free OptumServe COVID-19 testing starts today

HOOPA VALLEY, Calif. (KIEM)-Free COVID-19 testing started Thursday in Hoopa Valley at Tsewendaldin Inn.

Testing is hosted by OptumServe and Facilitated by Humboldt County K’im:aw Medical Center and will be held every Thursday – including both Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Hoopa’s Operation Section Chief Allie Hostler with the OES Management Team says, their team is excited to provide additional testing to asymptomatic people, who want to test.

Testing is not exclusive to K’ima:w patients – however – pre-registration is encouraged.

“If you pre-register the process is much faster, you can drive around, it’s designed to be a drive through, you can pull through if you’re pre-registered the process is only 15 minutes.”

Those with symptoms are encouraged to test as soon as possible at K’ima:w Medical Center by calling (530) 625-4261 ext. 0218.
