12 new Covid-19 cases, 19 more recoveries reported in Humboldt County Tuesday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reports 12 new cases of Covid-19 Tuesday. The total case count is now 1,512 with health officials monitoring 504 active cases.

There are 6 people currently hospitalized with Covid-19, and 2 are in the ICU. The Northern California Region’s ICU capacity has jumped to 29.5%.

Over 47% of cases are still under investigation as far as means of transmission. On a more encouraging note, 19 more recoveries were also reported today.

The County has updated its quarantine duration from 14 days to now 10 days for people who have had exposure, but have tested negative for the virus, following a similar move by the CDC. The duration for quarantine has changed, but the isolation duration remains the same. The update mass quarantine order can be found on the County’s website.

The Joint Information Center also announced that all 975 doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine the County initially received will be administered by the end of the day Tuesday.
