Fallen tree impacts road access

DEL NORTE COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)-Those who frequent Howland Hill Road may have to find an alternate route.

Redwood National and State Parks, on Thursday, warned the public a large redwood tree fell across the road and has blocked access to the Crescent City side of Howland Hill Road. .

It could take about a week to remove.

In the meantime, the eastern access to Stout Grove and Boy Scout trails remain open for now.

NPS says, access to trails could change as crews work to remove the tree laying across the roadway.
