Truck plunges into Humboldt Bay

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Saturday afternoon, a truck plunged into Humboldt Bay near the Wharfinger Building in Eureka.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the truck was traveling at a high speed before striking a lamppost and launching into the bay. A good Samaritan jumped into the water to help rescue the occupant trapped inside the vehicle.

After the driver was rescued, the truck drifted before fully submerging. Local law enforcement attached a marker to the truck after it was no longer visible.
