Local Companies Use Innovative Methods to Fish Truck Out of Humboldt Bay

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – The truck that drove into Humboldt Bay last weekend was fished out of the water by two local companies earlier this week.

This past Tuesday, John Corbett and Charlie Notthoff from Corbett Diving Services attached flotation devices to the vehicle, and Zerlang and Zerlang Marine Services was able to tow the floating truck back to shore.

Owner of Corbett Diving Services, John Corbett, says, “We figured this would be the cleanest, safest way for the environment to get it out of there and actually it went extremely smooth. We just rigged the lift bags to it and inflated them, waited for the tide to come up a little bit, and then just pulled out of there with the tug boat.”

The entire process only took two hours.
