93 new Covid-19 cases reported since Friday in Humboldt County

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reports 93 new cases of Covid-19 since Friday. The total case count is now 2,124. Health officials are tracking 755 active cases.

In the last week, 29 more cases have been reported in northern Humboldt, 160 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 25 more in southern Humboldt. The biggest weekly increase has once again been among people in their 20’s with 60 new cases reported followed by 30 year olds with 41 new cases. The main cause of transmission remains contact to a known case.

The county has also reported 2 new hospitalizations. There are 12 people currently hospitalized with Covid-19, and 2 are in the ICU. Northern California’s ICU capacity is sitting at 35%. The number of recoveries remains unchanged.
