The City of Eureka is providing rent relief grants for small businesses

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- The City of Eureka has set aside $300,000 to provide rent relief grants for small businesses.

The grants are in the amount of $7,500.

To qualify for these grants your business must have a 20 percent decrease in gross income due to COVID-19, the business must be in Eureka, the owner of the business must live in Humboldt County and the business must have been opened before March 1, 2020.

Donna Wright, the CEO of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce says that the grants will greatly benefit local businesses.

“Outside of grant funds that are available for our local businesses, the best way, we as a community, can support to ensure that our businesses are here not just in 2021 but beyond, is to buy local, shop local, dine local, drink local,” said Donna Wright, CEO of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce. “So, that would be my ask to the community.”

The grant money will help pay rent through April 30th, 2021.
