EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- Sequoia Park Zoo may look like it’s closed – but it is still open to guests – they’re just doing some construction on their new ticket booth.

All visitors must now enter and exit through the gift shop and are asked to stop by the zoo attendant upon arrival.

The old ticket booth has been eliminated to make room for a new guest facility which will be built right outside the Ecos cafe – which remains closed until completion of the project which is expected in mid-February.

Also closed to the public for safety of staff, the barn in the barnyard.

A generous grant from the Christine and Jalmer Berg foundation will fund the total construction project.

Ashley Mobley is the Director of Marketing & Events Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation.

“This new facility will be the new hub of operations for all guest services including admissions, general information and first aid, “she said. “We are super excited to share all of the things at the Sequoia Park Zoo with the community. We hope you’ll pardon our progress as we build and grow.”

Zoo staff ask those who plan to visit to look-over their COVID-19 which can be found by clicking here, or click here for general information.
