GARBERVILLE, Calif. (KIEM)-The owners of a Garberville gift shop is asking the public to help them find those responsible for robbing and vandalizing their store over the weekend.

The Legend of BigFoot gift shop located on the 2500-block of Highway 101 was burglarized and trashed at about 11:30 Saturday night.

According to the store’s manager Mike White – three men were caught on video surveillance looting the business and leaving with a cash register.

White says the damages and theft will most likely reach close to $20,000.

“It kicks you in the gut, to know people can just come out and just do all this, in just the blink of an eye,” he said. “It looks like a mini cooper pulled up and must have decided they wanted to break-in and do damage and steal a bunch of product.

“There’s not much we can do; I mean we have perfect video of them clearly,” said White. “So, eventually they’ll get caught.”

The case remains under investigation – anyone with information is asked to call Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or their tip line at (707) 268-2539, you can remain anonymous.
