2 Covid-19 related deaths, 132 new cases reported since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reports 2 Covid-19 related deaths Monday. One person was in their 70’s and the other was in their 90’s. There have been 132 additional cases also reported since Friday. Two previous cases have been removed, so the total case count is now 2,624 with health officials monitoring 425 active cases.

Since last Tuesday, 52 more cases were reported in northern Humboldt, 167 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 12 more cases in southern Humboldt. The biggest increase over the last 6 days has again been among people in their 30’s with 52 new cases reported followed by 20 year olds with 45 new cases.

The County has reported 7 new hospitalizations. There are 15 people currently in the hospital, and 5 are in the ICU. Northern California’s ICU capacity is 47.9%. On a more encouraging note, 161 more recoveries were also reported bringing that total number to 2,172.
