Humboldt State University police looking for burglary suspect

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – Police at Humboldt State University are looking for a suspect that tried to rob the college creek marketplace last night.

The alarm at the store went off at about 8pm and officers responded to the scene.  They spotted the suspect on Russow Street and tried to take him into custody.  The suspect was able to get away and took off on foot.  Police recovered a knife and a backpack, belonging to the suspect.

He is described as a Hispanic male, six feet tall, wearing a dark, puffy jacket.  Police are asking residents on campus to take extra precautions.
